Welcome to the February edition of the newsletter.

Happy New Year to all our readers, advertisers, and
especially the volunteers who deliver the newsletter. Thank
      you—keep up the good work.

Chris provided the front cover picture. Aurora Borealis taken from
Stonehall on 3/12/2025 at 7.46 pm. There was a bright full moon, which is
why the nature reserve was illuminated. Normally, the aurora is not visible in
such bright moonlight, so it is a rare event and a lucky break in the clouds.
Who needs to go to Iceland?

Talking about technology and inflation before Christmas, I was thinking
about buying a terabyte SSD drive. But, I put it off. What a mistake that
was, in the middle of January, and my hard drive packed up. I had a friend
coming, and let me have a second-hand one. It was when I looked at a new one
on Amazon, they had jumped from 52 to 155 in less than two months. I hope
our food doesn't go up that quickly.
He explained that it was the taxes and the onset of AI that needed the
solid-state memory. I told Gavin they could have some of my memory before I
lose it all, especially at that price.

End of rant. Now, back to my favourite hobby—enjoying a nice cuppa tea and
      finishing off the Christmas cake.

      See you all next month
      Colin
